3 Months

These hungry hippos are 3 months old!

We blessed the boys this month. It was such a special day for us. Matt did a wonderful blessing for both of them and the spirit was so strong! Contrary to popular belief that is not a doll I am holding in my arms, its a real baby.

They looked so handsome in their little suits!
And they didn't cry during the blessing, so that was a major twin win for us!

This month the boys were able to travel the world with out even leaving the house!

Mike and Brianne brought back these adorable sweaters and hats from Peru. I can't get over the adorableness!

The boys next stop on their travels around the world was China. Callie brought back the coolest Panda hats from China! These hats are big enough to last the boys a few years. I love it!

The next stop on the travels is Provo, UT circa 1980's. My mom gave me some old baby clothes from when my brothers were babies. The first was a little blue velvet suit.

And the second is the little blue jumper thing.

The vest looks more like a belly shirt on a fat guy on Jameson, but he still looks adorable.

The last stop on their travels around the world is Fiji. My bff Jessca brought some crazy cats from Fiji.

Sometimes I like to dress the boys the same and then make them pose for a dozen pictures.

We went to the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days and had to get a picture of Carter's own store! We also enjoyed lots of stares and crazy looks when people realized we had not one, but TWO babies. We're finding that twins are a novelty and people really enjoy engaging us in 20 minute long conversations about someone they know that has twins.

The boys are getting more interactive and are becoming really fun to play with. Matt loves to tease and play with the boys. I found Matt doing this to Jameson right before bed.

We tried out swimming for the first time. Jameson loved it and kicked around the pool. Carter just liked to sit in the water, but did not want to lay down.
My favorite pictures are the mid-sneeze faces.

Jameson just doing the backstroke.

Sweet little Carter with his big eyes.

Jameson has discovered his toes. It's pretty hilarious when he just stares at his toes. And its even more hilarious when he is naked and has man boobs.

In preparation for our Bear Lake trip next month we decided to go up the canyon and have a fire. Mom and Dad Kirk came along and enjoyed the fire with us.  The boys did so good! They loved to just stare at the fire. We're hoping the Bear Lake trip is just as successful.

I feel like I have to end every blog post with a goofy picture of Jameson. So here's this month's.

2 Months

These busy beavers are 2 months old! We've had an amazing month!

The boys were able to meet their Aunt and Uncle Adam and Alissa! We had so much fun with them! The boys favorite place was sleeping in Adam's arms.

While Adam and Alissa were here the Kirk fam spent the day in Park City. Matt and I went on the Alpine Slide and the Alpine Coaster while the boys played with Grandma.

We had to document Grandpa Kirk's first time changing the boy's diapers. And Matt had to take Jameson on his first ride down the slide.

We celebrated Matt's first Father's Day! I made Matt and the boys matching flannel shirts. They looked like manly men for sure!

Matt with his boys! Love this picture, and I especially love Jameson's face. Classic Jameson.

The Kirk's so generously offered to let us take their four wheelers for an afternoon while they watched the boys. We took them up to the top of West Mountain. It was such a pretty day with amazing views of Utah lake. Matt drove like a maniac and I drove like an old grandma. It was a lot of fun!

This month the boys started smiling! It is the most adorable thing! Grandpa Johansen got Jameson to smile really big for the first time when he was talking to him about fishing, so every time we want Jameson to smile we start talking about fishing. Carter likes to save his smiles for the elite.

The boys have  been rooting for Brazil to win the world cup! They love watching the games... or maybe this picture shows their real feelings.

We took the boys to church for the first time. We were on time, which was amazing. Then it went downhill from there. They fussed all through Sacrament meeting, and that was the only meeting they could handle. Next week we'll try for Sunday School too.

They are mastering the bumbo.

Just a couple of cool cats in wolf cut off tank tops.

And to end with my favorite picture of Jameson. That boy is full of goofy faces.

Can't wait to see what next month brings!

One Month

These cool cats are one month old! Oh how the time flies!

Jameson Matthew Kirk
Born May 3, 2014 at 12:56 am
Weighed 5lbs 12 oz and 18.5 inches long

Carter David Kirk
Born May 3, 2014 at 1:06am
Weighed 6 lbs 1 oz and 19 inches long

We've had a great month! It has been an adventure with the boys.

The boys love eating, sleeping during the day, pooping, going on long walks, riding in the car, reading stories and pooping.

They hate diaper changes, waiting to eat, and sleeping through the night.

They have been such good babies! And we feel really blessed to have such an amazing little boys!

Here are a few pictures from their first month!

Going home from the hospital outfits.  The newborn clothes were huge on them then, and now a month later they are starting to actually fit them! Carter was the bigger twin at birth, but now Jameson has almost a pound on Carter.

Trying to get a good picture of one baby is hard, trying to get a good picture of twins is impossible. This is the best we're going to get.

We went on our first family hike up to the grotto! The boys loved it... aka they slept the whole time. Everyone that passed us had to check out the boys. We had a lot of fun!

Nothing is cuter than a shirtless sleeping baby.

Matt is a proud Papa and loves to cuddle with the boys.

We do lots of "twin time" aka I make them lay next to each other and get to know each other.

Going on walks to Grandma and Grandpa Kirk's house.

Mastering the skill of carrying both twins.

The looks on their faces pretty much sums up our lives right now. It's a little bit crazy, but awesome!

Brazil

So we took a little trip to Brazil. And it was the coolest thing we've ever done.

THE FOOD
One of my favorite things from the trip was the food. Everything was AMAZING!! I tried everything and loved almost everything.

This is from a market in the shopping district in Campinas. We bought some super yummy mangos there.

We stopped for lunch after a ton of shopping and ate these bread and chicken and cheese things. They have a name in Portuguese, but all I remembered about it was that it was delicious!

Brazilians love their cookies. They are all similar to Oreo's, but like 100 times better with 100 different flavors. Every night we would go to the grocery store and stock up on our cookies. We bought flocco cookies in the first city we stayed in, right as we were leaving to another part of Brazil. Floccos are like sprinkles on steriods, and I freakin loved those flocco cookies. Like the best cookie ever and maybe it was because we hadn't eaten anything all day, but I loved those flocco cookies.  And then it was like Brazil was torturing me because we could never find the flocco cookies again. And we searched and searched EVERY single grocery store we found and never found them. I miss flocco cookies.

Darn Nectarines!

WARNING: Some of the content may gross you out. I'm sorry in advance for being one of those people that post gross pictures. I gotta prove myself to my Dad and brothers that I am hardcore tough too.

I had a mishap at work with a knife and a nectarine. I just wanted nectarine slices and I ended up with stitches. It's such a lame story I'm debating making up a lie about a knife fight or getting attacked by some ravenous animal.

The knife slipped when cutting the nectarine and I got this big gash. I may have even seen bone, or maybe it was me hallucinating from all the blood loss.

 This is the culprit!

The aftermath, 5 stitches. I was having a mini anxiety attack when Matt and I went to the instacare. Luckily the doctor could tell I was freaking out and treated me like he treats his child patients. It worked like a charm!

I'm just hoping scar looks cool!

Speedos, Neck Pillows and Sour Skittles

What do speedos, neck pillows and sour skittles have in common??  Those are just a few of the random items we've packed for our trip to BRAZIL!

Matt says the Brazilians loved sour skittles, but they don't have them there. He used to play "Don't eat Pete!" with all the kids, but they called it " Nao come Toni". We bought a bunch of candy that Matt didn't think they had in Brazil to take with us, we are going to try and bribe people to take us in for lunch.

Our flight is a 12 hour flight from Dallas to Brazil, in the middle of the night. So I am hoping to still be able to get my 8 hours of beauty sleep with a handy neck pillow!

As for the speedo Matt just wants to fit in while in Brazil. Since everyone wears speedos! Just kidding, a direct quote from Matt "There is no way I am going to wear a speedo, even if I am the only person at the ENTIRE beach not in a speedo."

 mmmmmm... love speedos!
