7 Months

Carter and Jameson are now 7 months old! This last month was by far my favorite! They are at a really fun age and Matt and I have had a lot of fun playing with them. We were also able to do a lot of really great stuff this month.

We started the month out by flying out to San Francisco to spend an early Thanksgiving with my family. We stayed at Scott and Jen's house in Tracy with the whole fam. with the exception of P&W and their fam, they were busy having a baby.

Flying with twins consists of- 1 big rolling bag, 2 back packs, diaper bag, laptop bag, car seat, stroller, and 2 babies. Traveling in and out of the airport with all our junk was the hardest part. Luckily Becca was with us flying to San Fran.  They both did really great on the plane. They played and slept for most of the flight both ways. We didn't know beforehand that the airline does not allow 2 lap babies on the same row, because there aren't enough oxygen masks. So Matt had to sit on the row behind me. It actually worked out really well because both our flights were practically empty, so we got both rows to our selves.

We got off the plane and met up with Scott and Jen and Gracie and headed out to the beach. We went to Pacifica State Beach. It was beautiful and warm and amazing.

Matt and Gracie loved playing in the waves.

The boys loved the beach and loved eating the sand. Hated when we had to clean the sand off their hands and mouth and feet and face and hair.

Becab and the beach!

The next day the rest of the family flew in. We met them in San Francisco and toured the city. In the previous times we've been to San Francisco we'd never gone to China Town. It was really interesting seeing how completely different China Town is from the rest of the city. And I am sure China Town will live in the memory of the whole family for a long time.

The babies fit right in with their panda hats.

At the top of Lombard Street with the whole fam. A few things to notice in this picture, Dad's mouth, Matt's hand on hip and Eric's arms. Good family pic.

Then we checked out another cool beach that had amazing views of the bridge.

And of course we have to go to Pier 39 and check out the sea lions!

The next day we went to a few different beaches. We first went to Bolinas Beach where we did a lot of cool tide pooling. It was a bit windy, we didn't plan for it to be cold so Carter got to hang out in my jacket to keep warm.

We found a few crabs, Jameson really enjoyed trying to eat them.

The next beach we went to was Stinson beach and it was really warm and sunny. Matt and all the men went boogie boarding and skim boarding. As per typical Johansen gathering all the men had to make it a competition and try and one up each other.

G-ma and the boys hung out on the beach. Carter was not impressed.

Eric became the crab whisperer and caught some huge crabs buried in the sand in the waves. He took home the big crab and cooked it up. It was pretty tasty! And as fresh as you can get.

On Saturday morning we did a fit family 5k. It was a lot of fun and Scott even had medals made for everyone. We are all winners.

The last day we were there Scott had to work and the rest of the fam had already gone home. So we went to a cool little zoo with Jen and Gracie.

One of my favorite parts of the trip was when Eric would pull out his ukulele and start playing songs for us. Everyone would dance around and sing about butts.

We got home and next day little cousin Aria was born. The boys were very interested in the little tiny baby.

We had the first snow of the season and took the boys out to experience it and sled down the drive way. They really liked it.

We enjoyed our first Thanksgiving together as a family. The boys actually napped for most of the dinner, but woke up in time just for dessert.

Jameson had the giggles the other night

We ended the month by going on this cute little polar express train ride with my family and visiting Santa. The boys liked looking around at all the lights on the train ride. And they are not afraid of Santa yet! Win win!

Can't wait to experience next month!
